Road to Recovery

Donation protected
On October 8 I suffered a stroke. I was in Seattle at the time and was rushed to the hospital. After spending more than a week there I was transferred to Vancouver closer to my family. All total I spent 28 days in the hospital and recovery care. I continue to get stronger every day but know that it is still a long road ahead of me. I currently suffer from partial paralysis on my left side. The recovery process can take at least a year and we pray I regain full mobility. Between physical and occupational therapy I am currently traveling to Vancouver at least 3 times a week and have to rely on my family for rides. My daughter Serena recently had a baby and is currently not returning to work so that she can assist me in getting to and from these appointments. My mom and dad help when they can but they are getting older and my mom is still working and my dad is on disability. My kids Jono and Serena help out with whatever they can both financially and physically but it is a big responsibility for them as Serena has her young family and Jono continues to work to pay for college. I have never been one to ask for help but I don’t know where to turn next as the disability system is likely 4 months from finalizing my claim. My bills are piling up and I can’t afford to lose my car as it gets me to and from my appointments. Anything anyone can do will help. Thank you.
