Sandie was riding her bike in Pasadena at noon near Foothill and Sierra Madre on Wednesday when she was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene without stopping to administer aid or provide information. Sandie was thrown from her bike in a way that shattered her knee in several pieces. She has had one surgery to add metal stakes and now she is undergoing a second surgery to put in metal plates to keep her leg together. Following surgery, Sandie will be unable to work for several months and will need to modify her home, as she will be in a wheelchair for some time and then on a walker. This ordeal is an extreme hardship physically, emotionally and financially. Let us come together to do right, where an irresponsible person did so wrong to hit and run from the scene of the accident.
