Dennis Baldwin Bus Operator at SCMTD for 37 years

Dennis had brain surgery April 22 and it was for a tumor that had been growing for over a year. Due to the pandemic he could not get in to see his doctor as new problems were happening and no one to put the information together.  Because of this the tumor was so invasive it took 9 hours of surgery and the doctor could not get it all. He will need radiation every day 4-6 weeks at Stanford in Palo Alto after Dennis is stable. The pituitary gland was affected and he was only home for 3 days before the doctor had him go to emergency and then he was re-admitted to the hospital. The pituitary gland sends out the message for hormones to work and so the doctors are trying to balance them all.  He is on his 9th week minus 3 days of home. It will take a year for his brain to heal and the doctors have informed us, family and Lenore, that Dennis needs 24/7 care.  We are getting the bills now, one for $90,000, the Operation and hospital stay at Stanford.   No sure what will be covered. Then there will be the hospital stay at Dominican hospital of 7 weeks and counting.  I am afraid to ask what the insurance lifetime cap is. He will need professional care for Lenore to work. That is not covered by insurance. I asked Dennis what to ask Maria for and he said so Lenore can have a break. We have spent $1,000 on equipment to make the home as safe as possible to have Dennis safe and need to buy supplies, used everyday, that insurance does not cover. There are many more complications to list.
