The W.A.N.T.E.D. Project - Ghana

In October of 2023, masters-level students and doctoral scholars from United Theological Seminary are headed to Ghana to support The W.A.N.T.E.D. Project and they want you to join them in making an impact!

 

The W.A.N.T.E.D. Project is a program of the Community Healing and Caring Center, Inc., a non-profit founded by Reverend Dr. KC (Kymberley Clemons-Jones). Our youth, especially boys and girls of color, are W.A.N.T.E.D. by other youth because of poverty, socioeconomic disparities, and lack of self-esteem that draws them to gang involvement and other at-risk behaviors. They are also W.A.N.T.E.D. by law enforcement who expect violence from them and are hypersensitive to their existence even when they are not misbehaving.

 

The W.A.N.T.E.D. Project seeks to tell a different story; boys and girls are W.A.N.T.E.D. by their families, friends, and their communities to be loved and valued, purposed and contributing members of the world. They are Worthy, Accountable, Named, Thankful, Empowered, and Determined!

 

 

The WA.N.T.E.D. Project is a 7-week program for boys and girls of color, ages 12-18, to learn coping strategies. The program addresses the dangers children face daily, such as youth-on-youth proximal violence, police targeting, poor decision-making, and other unforeseen circumstances that can cause them harm. The W.A.N.T.E.D. Project - Ghana is an affiliate of the same program in the United States, working with justice-involved young people, providing the same principles and mission bicontinental.
