Tourniquets & Trauma Kits 4 Cops
Donation protected
My name is Robert Krohn, I am the EMS Chief for the South Toms River Volunteer First Aid Squad, As well as a Career Firefighter/EMT and Volunteer Firefighter. In todays society and current events Police Officers may need to provide Self Aid in the event of Active Shooter/Killer Scenerios. My purpose for this gofundme is to put a tourniquet in every Ocean County Law Enfocement Officers Pocket as well as a Mutual Aid Trauma Kit in as many Police Vehilces as possible. The bag mounts to the head rest of the seat and officers are able to use them on themselves or if they cannot get to a fellow officer who is bleeding out they can toss it to them.
Money from this gofundme will be distributed to South Toms River Volunteer First Aid & Rescue Squad, INC. EIN (23-7107846) who is a registered 501(c)3 then the squad will purchase the kits and tourniquets and disperse them to ocean county departments.

The Mutual Aid Trauma Kit (M.A.T.) was developed in cooperation with Colorado Front Range Law Enforcement Departments to provide officers with a standardized vehicle trauma kit for immediate treatment of GSW or other penetrating trauma. Standardized medical components in a standardized vehicle location reduces time to treatment which is critical to casualty survival. Kit components follow coTCCC and C-TECC recommendations for tactical emergency medical response. The optional headrest mount allows the kit to be carried in a high visibility location where it can easily be seen by other responding officers and first responders.
M.A.T Kit Contents Include:
1 C.A.T Tourniquet
1 Celox Rapid Hemostatic Gauze or QuikClot Combat Gauze LE
1 Emergency Trauma Dressing (4")
1 Compact Hyfin Chest Seal, Twin Pack
1 Trauma Pad (5" x 9")
2 Pairs Nitrile Gloves (Lrg)
1 Pair EMT Shears (5.5")
1 M.A.R.C.H Card
1 Trauma Kit Component Instruction Card
The Trauma kit with headrest costs approx $134.00 per kit.
The Tourniquets for their pockets which can be used to stop deadly bleeding costs approx $30.00 per officer.
My Goal is to start small and get one for the officers my agencies serve in Ocean County and move on to the next towns from there. Most Departments are not budgeted for these type of items.
I also plan on educating every department on how to use the products that are donated to them.
Thank you
