Landon’s trips to Boston:
** Using our older Gofund me.**

Update: Landon and I leave September 29th for his major surgery at Boston Childrens Hospital. Landon will receive a complete airway and esophageal reconstruction leaving him on life support and months of recovery in Boston. Most of the damage we are repairing is from Landon’s chemotherapy due to Leukemia he’s been battling sense November 2020. He has 14 months left of Chemotherapy. Boston is about 3 1/2 hours from home and I will be traveling back and forth to help see our other children and then come straight back to be with Landon. We are sharing our gofund me for Landon to make sure we can keep up with life while helping Landon through such a large life changing surgery. With travel expenses, bills and childcare after school we are trying our best. Please keep Landon in you’re prayers as he faces a large recovery.

Landon leaves on 5/11/2022 to begin the next 2-3 weeks of surgery on his Esophagus that is damaged from his Leukemia Chemotherapy. Landon’s surgeries begin on 5/12/2022 where he will be admitted to the surgical intensive care unit for a few weeks. They will go back each week and continue to work on his esophagus while placing evac sponges. We are hopeful this approach will work before we move to an airway surgery to fix his weak airway.
We are sharing our gofund me to help the family keep a float while mom is in Boston staying with Landon. Kevin (Dad) can’t take unpaid time off from work and will have to juggle the girls, babysitters and working as much as he can.
This gofund me will help with major travel expenses, food, bills and childcare for the girls as well as anything that comes up while Alanna is gone with Landon.
Please keep Landon in you’re thoughts and prayers as we are hopeful we can help repair what Cancer is making  harder for him. He will continue his chemotherapy during his procedures.
Thank you,
Alanna, Kevin, Meila, Amara and MR. Landon.

Latest update: 1/15/22:
Landon is home! He was able to make it home for Christmas before he was in the ICU for another virus. Landon is back home and awaiting a Boston Children’s hospital appointment to see if the Esophageal repair team would like to remove a rare stricture  in his esophagus. The stricture could be causing the build up of secretions Landon continues to aspirate and inflame his lungs. Boston will hopefully give us options other then fading a tracheotomy. Mom will take Landon for Boston while husband manages their other children and trying to juggle work. Covid is a risk and hitting schools like wildfire which continue to keep our children stuck home at random exposure quarantines which is making it extremely difficult for Dad to work when mom is away with Landon.
Any new donations will go to helping the Groves with transportation and bills while they try to get Landon to Boston and praying to keep him out of the PICU.

Thank you!

Update: November 2021
Landon’s lungs are struggling to oxygenate. He is currently battling RSV, Lung fungal pneumonia and MRSA. He has been on a ventilator, Intubated in the Picu for a week and a half. Landon is not making huge progress and the doctors are thinking it’s time to consider Boston Childrens Hospital for ECMO. Landon’s dad has taken some work off to help the family through this emotional time.
The family has a gofund me for transportation and financial support while they take more time off to hopefully help their son pull through, again.

We are hopeful, faithful that Landon will find his way back to us.

Landon is a 2 year old little boy, diagnosed with aggressive B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on 11/20/2020. Landon had already been diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Kabuki Syndrome and was already medically complex from birth with sick lungs.
Landon has had many ups and downs, including spending 85% of his first year of battling inpatient at Albany Medical Center. Landon is the youngest of 5. His father works long hours, while his mom has stayed by his side through everything hospital visit and inpatient stay.
On August 7th Landon was rushed to Albany Medical Center and was put in a medical coma and ventilator for septic shock. He had a low chance of survival and he pulled through!
Landon has two years of treatment left and with his high medical care, his mother is his caregiver. Any donations go to helping the Groves family.
