Donate to help get Adam home!

In January 2022 our colleague and friend, Adam, experienced a serious medical emergency which resulted in him undergoing heart surgery for 11 hours. He was a patient in ICU for almost 3 months, part of the time in a coma, on multiple organ support, and with breathing support via a tracheotomy.
At the end of April he was moved from ICU but remains in the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle, undergoing extensive physical rehab and kidney dialysis 3 times a week. It is possible he will remain in hospital for another 3-6 months until he has the physical mobility to return home.
When Adam does get home, it will be a big adjustment for him, his wife Katherine and daughter Charlotte. There is likely to be multiple adaptations needed to make their home more accessible. It is also expected that Adam will continue to need physiotherapy to regain the functionality of his feet and legs.
As a group, we are hoping to raise money to support Adam and his family with both the practical adjustments needed at home, and any continued care that may be required. To do this, we will be undertaking a sponsored walk along the Northumberland coast from Craster to Low Newton and back again.
Any donation you can make will be very much appreciated and be well received by Adam and his family. Thank you in advance.
