Hi,
My name is Julia and I'm an international student doing my Chiropractic studies at Life University in Marietta, GA.
On the 4th of July, I was sitting outside getting some sun on campus and when I stood up to head back to my apartment, I started feeling dizzy. Next thing I knew, I woke up by myself in a pool of blood with gravel in my mouth. I checked my phone and realized I had been out for half an hour. I can't remember how the next few events followed but I managed to get back to my apartment before campus security came by and called an ambulance for me.
At the hospital, the doctors said I had fainted from low blood pressure and fallen face first onto the gravel. They ran a CT scan on me and found out I had fractured and broken 6 of my facial bones, including my orbital floor, maxillary sinus, nasal palate and cheek bone. I was told to get surgery to fix it within 3 weeks or risk my eye sinking and the loss of vision.
After consulting with the surgeon and the hospital, my bills will come up to $50,000. Since I'm an international student, I don't have insurance in America and I have no family here with me as well. I wish I didn't have to get surgery but that is not an option considering this case is an emergency. Plus the fact that I am in graduate school and I still have tuition fees that I have to pay for this week.
My surgery is scheduled for the 20th of July, Wednesday.
Any donation is greatly appreciated and I thank each and every one of you for your contribution.
With love,
Julia
