Earthquake victims in San Jacinto
Donation protected
I'm Erika Aracely Vélez Véliz, I am a teacher in New Jersey. For those of you that know me , you know how much I love my country and how much pride I feel to be from the coast. I was born in Manabí; the most affected area of the earthquake that took place Saturday April 16th, 2016 in Ecuador. If you are not familiar with the area: Manabí lies along the Pacific Ocean, it's warm weather, beautiful beaches, delicious food and hospitality of its people is what attracts locals to vacation and many foreigners to call this wonderful place HOME.
In Manabí there is a small town called San Jacinto, that’s where I grew up and spent my childhood. The main source of income is tourism but now with the destruction of the earthquake many of the family-run hotels, restaurants, stores and homes are destroyed. The economic crisis will affect my town because small towns are usually forgotten and funds never reach them. That’s the reason I’m creating this fund. The people affected are my neighbors and friends.
The money collected will go directly to the people that need it most in San Jacinto to help them rebuild their future, to give them hope and most importantly to show that humanity in its essence is Good. Once the goal is met I will go personally and give people the donations collected. In the next few days I will be posting pictures of the people that your contribution will help. My only interest is that they get help, I wish I had enough to give them and not have to ask but I do not. Please help.
For those of us that are here and not there in Ecuador this is a way we can contribute.
Please donate anything,I will be forever thankful and I am sure that your generosity will reach many people.
This is my town; my small fishing town of wonderful people and beautiful beaches please help me help them.
From the bottom of my heart: THANK YOU
