Katalina (Kat) was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer on June 11, 2021 and will immediately start treatment.  The doctors found two masses.  One in the right breast and the other in the lymph nodes under the armpit.  Chemotherapy will be the first step, followed by surgery and then radiation.  Kat is also a vasculitis warrior who has been battling a rare autoimmune disease called Wegeners Granulomatosis for 15 years.  Last January, she was diagnosed with Kikuchi Disease, which is a benign condition of the lymph nodes.

She is a single mother of 3 kids, Ezra (12), Harper (4) , and Ezekiel (16 months).  She is a daughter, sister, and friend who is loved unconditionally.  Although her health is an uphill battle, she is staying strong, positive, and motivated.  She is currently on a leave of absence from her schooling and is not able to work during her treatment.  Doctors have estimated chemotherapy to last 5 months or more not including surgery and radiation.
