Dear Friends,
As I look at all that's going on in our country and the world today, I can sit by and watch helplessly, or I can take responsibilty for my part in this whole thing and work on becoming the best version of myself I can possibly be. I can do this by working on self-improvement, empowerment and by hopefully helping others. Life is a precious gift we've been given, and I for one feel the need to give back.
Several years ago I experienced a major setback due to the horrible affects of a facial nerve pain condition called Trigeminal Neuralgia, also known as "the suicide disease." It is known to be the worst pain known to man. I was unable to work for four years (this was prior to the pre-existing condition clause change with insurance companies) and I was thrown into financial despair. Fortunately I underwent a successful surgery which has since relieved me of the horrific pain, the need to take medication and I have been back to work ever since. It's not been easy, but I am a survivor with the intent to thrive again!
I have always loved ballet, yoga and the arts. I danced on a professional level into my 20's and was a fitness instructor at Jane Fonda's Workout during my pregnancy and for several years in the 1980's. I would like to recreate my life (at the ripe old age of 60!), in that venue to enable myself to earn a decent income doing what I love to do and hopefully by inspiring others through health and fitness.
I have decided to attend a yoga teacher training certification program and in order to make my dream become a reality, I need help. I do not have the funds to do this (as I am still playing catch up), so I am hoping you will be moved to donate any amount to help me achieve my goal. I will be most happy to invite anyone who contributes to attend my yoga classes (once certified), free of charge!
I've realized that by using my talents, I can't "change" the world, but I can do my part to promote peace, love and a better world for all of us. Please consider helping my dream become a reality, even the smallest donation will help!
