Buddy was found wandering the streets of Willetton in early December 2017. Very skinny. Crawling with fleas. Dirty & completely matted coat. Not desexed or microchipped. He had a heart murmur He was also blind. His right eye has a severe catract. His left eye was so badly damaged from a dog bite not only could he not see out of it, it could not be saved. He ended up in the pound & nobody claimed him
Despite his poor physical state, Buddy has the most placcid loving nature. I could not stand by & do nothing.
So I adopted him.
Bloods tests showed other than a severe anaemia he was healthy. Treating his fleas fixed his anaemia AND his heart murmur!
He was clippped, groomed, desexed, microchipped, & had his left eye removed.
Good meals have meant he has put on weight & his skin & coat are becoming healthy again.
But he still cant see.
He has no left eye anymore & a cataract in his Right eye.
We have been to see an Animal opthalmologist & we have been told he is a perfect candidate for a cataract removal which will give him back some sight.
I have already spent $1500 on adopting Buddy & paying for all his other treatments. I cant afford the $3000-5000 to have the catract surgey as well.
Can you help me help Buddy?
I havent decided if I will keep him long term as I already have 2 dogs & one of them is not convinced yet he needs a new brother, so I may have to find him a special furever home with another family.
Having his sight back will help make his life easier while he gets back to complete health and then settles into his new home......wherever that is.
Can you help Buddy see?
Even $10 from everyone I know on facebook & email would get Buddy the minimum $3000 he needs.
Any surplus funds would be donated to WA Pet Project a Perth based rescue that is focused on education and training as well as rehoming pets in need.
