Dear Friend and Supporter,
We are Fort Lauderdale’s nonprofit, professional association of beach lifeguards and open water rescuers. The USLA Fort Lauderdale Chapter works to reduce the incidence of death and injury in the aquatic environment through public education, training programs, and the promotion of high levels of lifeguard readiness.
Our chapter is very involved in the community and performs water safety presentations; lifeguard training academies; junior lifeguard programs, and career day presentations at local schools. We have also found that showcasing our lifeguard competition team through participation in local, regional, and national lifeguard tournaments and basic life support EMS competitions have furthered our mission with respect to promoting lifeguard readiness.
At this time, we are seeking private sponsorship to raise the funds necessary to send our Fort Lauderdale Ocean Rescue Competition Team to the USLA National Lifeguard Championship in Daytona Beach, Florida on August 7th-10th. We won this event last year, were also National Champions in 2009, and we look forward to defending our title this year. You are cordially invited to participate as a sponsor of the 2019 FLOR Competition Team.
