Against my brothers wishes, I am creating this page so people can help! As most of you know, my brother Matt was born with a heart defect. For the last 40 years he has had several cardiac arrests, surgeries, medications, pace makers, defibrillators, complications, and too many near death experiences to count. More recently it has become evident that his heart is just worn out and he needs a new one! Due to the complications of his case and other organs having issues, a few hospitals have turned him down for a transplant. His most promising option is in Las Angeles, California where they are the top city in the country in heart transplants.
Between U of M Ann Arbor and Cedars Sinai in California, they have agreed to admit him and do some testing to hopefully add him to the transplant list as soon as he is stable enough here to go. That's where the problem lies. To get him out there, it will cost  AT LEAST $30,000 for an air ambulance.  Plus the costs of living in California during a possible transplant.  We looked into other free or discounted charity flight options, but he doesn't qualify. Please help my brother get to California. We feel like this is a huge chance at a new life! Thank you so much for all of your thoughts and prayers through the years.
