Krystins Heart Transplant ❤️ Journey

Hello Family and Friends
Some of you may have seen requests for prayers on Facebook for my 6 year old daughter Krystin. Krystin was born with a heart condition called (HLHS) Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. Since birth she has endured 2 open heart surgeries. I eventually had to make the painful decision of having my daughter get a heart transplant or let her have 50/50 chance of survival. With much consideration, I chose to have her heart transplanted. I was given approximately 2 years wait time. However, we unexpectedly received a heart from an angel donor within a month. We are forever grateful to have received this new heart and to date, although still having complications, she has not rejected the new heart ♥️.
This message to all my family and friends is two-part. First, to remind everyone that organ donation is something we should all consider. If it wasn’t for a donor, Krystin chance of survival would be extremely limited. She is fighting everyday and we are so proud of her for that. You never know when you or a loved one will need an organ so we urge you to consider becoming a donor.
Due to the quick turn-around of having the heart transplant, I have been out of work since 03/30/2021 and unable to go back to work. I am on leave of absence (FMLA) without pay. Krystin has several Dr. appointments on a weekly basis until at least 6 months out. While being forever grateful for the donor. I thought I had some time to plan for this transplant and build up some savings. However, the surgery has created an advanced financial hardship on me and my children maintaining routine bills and overall quality of life. Your donations will be used to help pay for our home, groceries, gas and basic necessities. We pray that God can help her get well soon so that she can live a normal life.
