Haez Johnson ; Road To Recovery

Donation protected

Greetings Everyone,

I am a family friend to Erica and Zach Johnson , as well as their newest family addition Haez Wolf Johnson.

On June 1st, 2021 Zach and Erica’s beautiful baby boy arrived early at 35 weeks and 5 days gestation.  He weighed 5 pounds 4 ounces

and was able to be brought home without NICU or special care.

The first time parents and newly wed couple brought their beautiful baby home excited to start their new life together. They soon noticed that their newborn was having problems holding down breast milk and formula. His symptoms started to develop quickly and his weight began to drop tremendously. The couple was readmitted urgently the very next day after bringing their new born home.

After extensive studies were conducted over the duration of 5 days at Sanford Children’s Hospital it was diagnosed that Haez has a rare congenital obstruction in the upper GI known as Congenital Pyloric Atresia. This diagnosis is extremely rare and requires a high risk surgery in which the newborn must undergo a EGD and a GI surgery back to back days. Both procedures required general anesthesia to be given to a premature newborn. On June 9th, the day of his fathers birthday.... Haez had pyloroplasty atresia partial obstruction surgery.

I am reaching out to you all because after fighting for their sons life the couple is going to have a very challenging time. The recovery for their son Haez is going to be a tough and demanding one. All donations, shares, and prayers are greatly appreciated.

They are still currently admitted to the hospital and have weeks of recovery to get through. Hoping that baby Haez makes a full recovery, they have not yet been given a discharge date.

This young family stepped into the new world of parenting with a challenging experience. They were forced to have a lot on their plate and adapting the best they can. Medical bills, medications, and time off, are where the donations will be attributed to this new family.

While spending every second of everyday in the hospital, including the fathers birthday,  this has been a challenging time for them and their loved ones. Thank you all for your time as they get through this journey with their newborn. Being new parents is scary and hard enough as is, but to be new parents and have to deal with something like this can be very difficult. Again anything you can do will be of great help… be it your words, prayers, donations or sharing of this post, it will not go unnoticed!!!

Thank you!!
