I'd rather DIE than ask anyone for money!!
These are unforeseen circumstances that have gotten out of my control.
On March 4th, I was on i-195 on my way to work when a girl (on her cell phone) came barreling up behind me and smashed into the back of my car!
The front of her car was DESTROYED, showing just how hard she hit me.
She ended up sending me to the hospital with whiplash, a shoulder/arm sprain, and severe damage to my back. I also ended up with a Metatarsal Shaft Fracture in my right foot.
I went to a lawyer and was sent to a chiropractor three times a week and a foot specialist for the fracture. The lawyer assured me that I had a good case against the "distracted driver."
For 4 months I was not eligible for TDI or unemployment. The lawyer told me to "hang in there," as the settlement would eventually pay off.
It is now 4 months later and I applied for several lawsuit settlement loans to help me over the hump until I get some sort of settlement. Today I was denied for the last time. The underwriter informed me that they don't believe it's a case that I will win!!! They also questioned my lawyers ethics and lack of accurate information and advice.
As I took this information to my lawyer he suddenly (after 4 months of empty promises) told me that these cases are "tough" and risky at best. He seemed disinterested to elaborate any further.
So here I sit today, still not cleared to return to work (not that it matters since I LOST MY JOB in the process). All rent/bills/medical bills, etc.. piled up.
We are now facing eviction due to 4 months of back rent owed. Utilities being turned off and everything else deviating from our "regular" lifestyle that we are accustomed to.. .which is minimal at best.
SO, against my better judement I've had an awful lot of people suggest this Go Fund Me option. I am now BEYOND embarrassed and only doing this as a last ditch effort.
