Wendy DeNoyer's Treatment Fund

As most of you know, Wendy was diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer on Memorial Day. Doctors in Grand Island performed immediate surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible while still maintaining her brain functionality. Following the biopsy, the initial outlook was bleak; doctors gave Wendy less than a year to live. Not willing to accept that prognosis, Wendy and her family sought multiple opinions and ultimately decided to pursue treatment at Duke University in Raleigh, NC. Duke is a world-renowned brain cancer research hospital and is also where Wendy’s brother went for treatment 16 years ago when he battled and later lost his fight to the same disease.

After weeks of waiting for a response, the DeNoyers finally received word on 4th of July weekend that Wendy had been accepted into Duke’s cancer treatment program.  Craig and Wendy immediately flew to Raleigh and met with doctors to determine a treatment plan.

After reviewing Wendy’s case, it's the doctors' recommendation that she undergo brain surgery for a second time. They believe that surgery, coupled with chemotherapy and radiation, would dramatically improve Wendy’s life expectancy while still maintaining her quality of life. Knowing that would mean more time with her grandbabies and being present for her youngest son’s wedding, Wendy’s mind was made up.

Knowing the positive benefits and bright prognosis of this treatment plan, the DeNoyers are 100% committed to doing whatever is necessary to extend Wendy’s life; regardless of cost.

This is where you come in.

For the foreseeable future, Wendy and Craig will be splitting time between Grand Island, NE and Raleigh, NC, as Wendy undergoes surgery and treatment. Insurance will likely cover a portion of the medical costs, but the family will be left to assume responsibility for the rest, as well as transportation and lodging expenses. Although they would never ask for assistance, they will likely require support from their friends, family, and community.

With that said, if you are able to assist in any way, the DeNoyers would be humbled and forever grateful by your support in Wendy’s journey to recovery!
