Help Save Luna

My fiancé and I started this week taking our baby to the vet for what we thought was persistent allergies, manifesting itself in "hot spots" around Luna's tiny (5.7lb) body. She is 1 year and 2 months old, so we were absolutely blindsided as her health began to decline rapidly over the course of the next three days. On Thursday, after working 10+ hours at a drug and alcohol detox center (which is exhausting in and of itself) I came home to a lethargic, unmoving, non-eating, panting kitten. Tom and I made the decision to take her to the emergency veterinarian around 9PM on Thursday evening. We waited through some tests, still unaware of the severity of the situation. When the X-rays showed an enlarged heart and out-of-place trachea, we were beside ourselves with grief. We made another difficult decision to bring her directly from the ER Vet to GSVS in Tinton Falls, NJ and immediately upon our arrival, she was placed in an oxygen tank where she has been residing since. Friday afternoon we waited by our phones for some news, and what little news we were getting seemed to get worse by the hour. First it was discovered that Luna had a hole in her heart, which was not directly causing her labored breathing. By 4PM, we received another call that Luna was severely anemic... I believe the direct quote by the cardiologist was "we have a very sick cat here, and it we don't more forward it doesn't look good for her". From there, Luna was given a blood transfusion. We were able to visit our baby last night, in the O2 tank, hooked up to the machine pumping new blood into her veins, who perked up more than I have seen in days when she saw us. My heart was broken again when we had to leave and were told so much is still up in the air for her. I hate asking for help. Anyone who knows me, and knows us, knows that begging for money from strangers and friends and family is my very last resort. I am and will continue to go to the wall for Luna, no matter what it takes. Please donate whatever you can because anything will help us. Thank you so much for reading her story. Please send us some positive vibes/prayers/ universe prayers. We love you guys!
