In April, our friend Katie Bittner and her family were diagnosed with COVID and Katie was admitted to the hospital with complications. As her symptoms progressed, Katie was intubated and developed blood clots in her legs. She was in a medically induced coma for several weeks during which time the doctors were forced to remove part of her left foot as well as part of her right leg. She is now in a rehab facility, still on a ventilator, but awake and alert and getting the care she needs. The road for Katie’s recovery will be long and and expensive so we are asking for any assistance you can give to her and her amazing family. It is with her husband Mike’s permission that we share their story.
