HELP CORINNE & DEWEY BUY A BAR
Hey everyone!
I’m looking for a little help ... from a LOT of people !
My partner Jim Dewey and I found a spot that deserves to be at once elevated & preserved.
The Spot.

It’s a classic Cleveland “dive bar” on the near west side, and it’s been our secret project of 2021 to acquire it!
Located halfway between downtown and Lakewood, less than a mile directly south of Edgewater Beach Metro Park, this hidden gem currently operating as a private club is going to be the perfect place to listen to our favorite Local & Regional artists on the jukebox (included in the sale!)

This unassuming brick building in Cleveland, Ohio has a bar & kitchen (liquor licenses included) on the ground floor, plus a 3 bedroom apartment upstairs, and a 5 car length garage in the back. There is an unimproved side yard currently attached to the bar which will make an AMAZING patio with minimal renovations. The garage space will be leased to one or both of our pre-existing small businesses (MerchGirl Band Merchandise/Dewey Designs Lighting). Our hope is to renovate the apartment into a cool vacation rental / party rental / AirBnB !
Bonus! - the adjacent vacant lot is included in the contract, to be used as future parking expansion if approved.
The VISION.
A new spot for music lovers on Cleveland’s near west side, wedged between Lakewood and Gordon Square. A place where our favorite music is always playing on the jukebox, and new friends will always be welcome. An affordable place to gather in one of Cleveland’s historic working class neighborhoods.
We hope to leave the bar interior mostly as it is! Everything works, and will look great after a deep cleaning.
We plan to first improve the existing parking lot and patio, eventually expanding parking to the vacant lot next door.
Here is a rough draft of the patio and parking lot after the proposed renovation.

The ASK.
We made an offer of $205k, the sellers accepted it, we put $40k in escrow, got the inspection, and for the last 4 months we have been kicked around from bank to bank trying to close this deal.
Apparently the banks haven’t been lending for bars due to the pandemic, and Dewey and I don’t make our living in the most traditional ways.
We are still beating our head against the door of every bank, but I don’t want to let this opportunity slip!
We may be on our last extension, and so I am reaching out to alternative fundraising methods.
Your donations will be used to acquire and improve this property, our hidden treasure.
We believe we will not only succeed as a small business at this location, but can also enhance the immediate neighborhood by offering another food & drink option and while contributing opportunities for creatives, artists, and musicians from the entire community .
Who Is Your Donation Helping ?

Me ! - Corinne Henahan
My Partner - Jim Dewey
What Happens If...?
I am one tenacious little lady.
I am determined not to fail.
If you know me, you know I don’t give up easily.
I’m a good bet.
Much of my old equipment currently not in use is now for sale. My old press from Mullins. 3 different entry level embroidery machines. A pad printer.
Buy Merch! Merchgirl . Org
I am also looking into borrowing against my homes equity, or even selling my home to buy this bar, (but I would REALLY like to keep my home, and this seems to be the pin on which “family support” hangs! )
If you can help a little, there will be small rewards tba...
If you can help a LOT , shoot me a message PLEASE.
