Kelsey Needs Urgent Care

Story

Kelsey (Wiethoff) Ives is a 36 year old wife of Ben, mother of Eliana, and twins, Zadie and Zurie. She is a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. A graduate of Escanaba High School and Northern Michigan University, but ultimately, she has helped to bring others to Christ through leading Celebrate Recovery and by sharing her own struggles with addiction through the last two decades of her life. If you know Kelsey, you know her energy, her big personality and generous heart. She is funny, beautiful, caring, and prayerful. When she is healthy, she is the first to offer herself to her family and friends. Kelsey has celebrated over a decade of sobriety as well as some freedom from this eating disorder, but the past two years have been a very trying time for her.  A severe eating disorder coupled with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder has gotten to a life threatening point, depleted her health, leaving her in isolated critical care nearly 400 miles away from home.  According to the group ANAD (Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders) an estimated 28.8 million Americans will have an eating disorder in their lifetime. It can be a life threatening disease and over 10,000 deaths a year are the direct result of an eating disorder. Eating disorders have a direct link to genetic heritability and are among the deadliest mental illnesses, second only to opioid overdose.   In order to save her life, we need to help Kelsey get to a facility that specializes in eating disorders but she and her family do not have the means to pay out of pocket.  Not including childcare or necessary funds for family expenses, a 4-7 week stay starts at $35,000.  99% of specialized treatment facilities will not accept her insurance. Without the funds available, she will not even be considered.  She has already helped countless people by publicly sharing her story. Now she needs us...She needs us NOW. This cannot wait. Prayerfully consider a donation to her cause. Please put her on your prayer chains, share this post, and give her every ounce of hope she needs to recover.
