Please help Michael:
Hello, my name is Kelli and I am a school counselor in Colorado Springs, CO. I would like to introduce you to a young man by the name of Michael. Michael is a senior at the high school where I work. This morning he went from an average everyday kid trying to make it through the last four weeks of his high school career to a young man in turmoil not knowing where he is going to live or get his next meal. Unfortunately, Michael is way too familiar with tragedy. In 2008, Michael lost his mom to suicide and this morning Michael went into his father's bedroom and found his father had passed away during the night. As I stated previously Michael is no stranger to tragedy. Michael and his father lost their home a couple of months ago and were currently living with his dad’s friend. Sadly, with the passing of his father, Michael is homeless once again. It goes without saying with the passing of his father, Michael does not know what his next step will be but, as long as we've known him, he has had dreams of becoming a Chef. As a school, we would like to help him with his dream and we are going to do our best to ensure he graduates this May; however, we have so many obstacles to overcome, such as transportation and, since he is unclear where he is going to be living, it complicates the situation even more. We are currently looking into getting Michael assistance from the state, but he just turned 18 so help is limited. We are hoping to assist this young man in any way we can. After graduation, he will probably need to move to California where his sister is currently living. Sadly, we don’t know what the future holds for Michael but, with your help, we may be able to put him at ease, temporarily if nothing else. Your donations will help Michael with food, temporary shelter, transportation, fees to obtain his drivers license and state documents, counseling services, and so much more. Please help Michael in any way you can monetarily, and I promise that our staff will help move Michael forward in accomplishing his goals, regardless of the hardships he has had to endure. Thank you so much!
