Glitter the Kitten Needs Surgery
Donation protected
This silly excuse for a kitten was originally found in streets of South Central with a shattered femur. No one knows for sure how her leg was broken-- maybe she was hit by a car, maybe she was doing something so cute her leg EXPLODED! We just don't know!
Some wonderful people from DR Doghouse Bully Crew Rescue got her started with vaccinations, defleaing, deworming, x-rays and a temporary splint. They networked to find her a more cat-centric rescue to take over and foster.
Santé D'Or Foundation became that rescue.
And I am that foster.
Her name is Glitter.
We took in Glitter knowing there were going to be steep medical bills regardless of the fate of her leg.
But we also took in Glitter in knowing that our community of adopters and animal lovers would open their hearts to her and would find her wonderful and worthy for sweet, domesticated life. Not only is our goal to get her on however many feet she would end up with, healthy and a belly full of food she does not have to scrap for, but also into a forever home-- preferably one that has cushions to sleep on, a neck to nuzzle her wet nose to... and sparkly balls to play with - shetoldmetosaythat.
Glitter has had 2 sets of x-rays taken and they have been examined by our vets and their colleagues. The most realistic course for Glitter is to amputate her left hind leg. I know this sounds very sad, but she has already learned to walk on her three healthy legs! She plays, trollops, climbs in and out of the litter box PERFECTLY. She is super independent and never cries or asks for help. She is really an incredible little toughie.
Glitter has done so much to adapt to her situtation on her own, now it's up to us to help her medically. We are hoping you want to help too. Sparkle balls are NOT cheap. Ok, they are-- but this surgery stuff not. Please consider donating any amount to get us closer to her surgery estimate.
I'll continue as Glitter's foster mom post-surgery. So if your hang-up is "not enough photos of Glitter being cute!"... I can remedy that. I promise.
