We all know Rebecca Del Medico and her incredible love of Goldens. She started the Golden Retriever Forum, a place we can go for support and share stories . Well now Rebecca needs support and financial help. She was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer early in the year. After paying her large deductible, and her drug deductible ( her one chemo drug is $10,000 for 21 days with a copay of $3,000) she soon reached the catastrophic stage for her insurance. In May she had to switch to Medicare with a Part F supplement and a new drug plan with the same copay. In the same month Rebecca also had to have a sigmoid colon resection on an expedited basis and now has complications. A nurse still comes out everyday to clean and pack the incision. After paying her May copay, she found a foundation to help her with the chemo copay, but is out of money. She has been unable to work since May and continues to experience substantial pain. In addition to her pain and the effects of the pain pills, she is also experiencing chemo fog from the chemo drugs. It effects her short term memory and her ability to find the correct words when speaking. Not the best circumstances for a lawyer. Moreover her oncologist has now said that she will probably be having a mastectomy at the end of August.
Rebecca has been behind so many of us in our time of need. She was incredible to Orion and many others.
