Hi First off thank you for stopping to read my appeal and sorry it's so lengthy but I wanted to tell you our story, My name is Samantha and I want to tell you about my son Ryder,Ryder is 19 months old and currently fighting brain cancer,A couple months ago we were referred to the Royal children's hospital after Ryder wasn't being himself we then found out he had a brain tumor, this was a shock to our systems, our young son had a brain tumor! Not only that but we found out It was almost over half his brain. The very next day he had an MRI and then the horrid major operation to remove some tumor, enough was taken out to relieve pressure and then be tested. A week later we received news that would break our hearts... The tumor was cancerous. From there everything seemed to hit us like a train, we had to talk about chemo and a port that needed to be inserted to administer his chemo.Over the next few weeks he had to learn how to walk again and how to use his hands. Then we noticed he wasn't using his eyes and thought he was going blind, But this was a sign of fluid build up on the brain.. He needed another operation. This time they would need to insert a shunt into his brain to lead to his stomach, This is going to be in him for life. Now the tumor has grown and chemo has had to be changed, This new chemo could cause leukaemia, It also can cause him to be infertile. He has had several MRI's, CT scans and operations. He seems to not be able to catch a break. Yesterday the shunt became blocked and needed another operation to clear it.We also found out now has a DVT which is very uncommon in his age and will need daily injections to clear it.And now has air around his brain. And there has been so much more that he has gone through. I've started this go fund me because of the financial strain living between our rental property and the hospital has put on us, My partner has had to take time off work to spend time with Ryder and support me as I'm only 2 weeks away from having Ryder's little sister. Parking alone at the hospital has cost more then we expected and not knowing what special equipment we might need when Ryder's allowed to come home. Thank you for taking the time to read this and opening your hearts to our story.
