Hello friends far and wide, literally! Everyone from Victoria to St. John’s.
If you’re here, you’re aware that Skylar is running across Canada! This has been Sky’s dream for years and the fact that he has coupled it with raising money for the Canadian Mental Health Association is phenomenal.
I joined Skylar just outside of Medicine Hat to drive the 34’ RV across Canada with him and Duke. Mostly to hangout with Duke, honestly.
A run like this doesn’t happen without the support of people who care about the cause and the humans doing it. The highlights of this trip for both Sky and I have been getting to meet people across Canada and all the love they’ve shown this project.
We have been very blessed by the kindness and generosity of people from each end of our country and everywhere in the middle. This run genuinely would not be happening if it wasn’t for the donations and assistance of people who care.
Although the goal is to raise funds for CMHA, there are costs associated with creating the visibility and credibility to help elevate this cause. Our costs are averaging $5 000 a month associated with this endeavour.
$2 000 - Monthly RV Rental
$300 - Tank of gas (Averaging a tank a week)
$175 - Food for a week
$30-50 ($800 Monthly) - Night at a full service campsite
$300 - Monthly living expenses including cellphone, etc (Laundry detergent because running 60km a day leads to A LOT of dirty clothes)
Donations are amazing and are a huge support. That being said, anything that helps alleviate these expenses is greatly appreciated. A snack, shower, laundry, or a smile goes such a long way! A place to plug our RV in and rest for the night is AMAZING! Internet? We will cry.

We also have a Facebook group called 'Friends of Sky' that you can join to see everyone’s experiences meeting Sky along this run. We will also be keeping this updated about where we will be and things we need.
Again, thank you to everyone who has supported Sky through this endeavour and his amazing goal of running across Canada. The conversation he is helping bring to the forefront is monumental coupled with the visibility of running across our beautiful country is something we truly believe will help shift how we view our mental health and open the doors to have the raw conversations we all so desperately need.
