This is my father of 4, Antonio Birrueta.

This year he was diagnosed with four types of Cancer. One day, he couldn't find the strength to get up and his back ached with excruciating pain. We saw multiple doctors but no one seemed to know what was wrong with him. The next three months my father pretty much lived in the hospital, until the doctors finally figured out he had cancer and all were in stage 4. They had diagnosed him with pancreatic cancer, Multiple Myeloma, Bone Marrow cancer and cancer in his ears.

When he was 12 years old, he and his family crossed the border to live the “American Dream”. He lived here with his family for a few years until the rest of the family unfortunately had to go back to Mexico. As a 14 year old, my father raised himself without little to no help. He has earned everything he has gotten in life to make a better future not just for himself but for his four kids, his wife and his animals that he cares for.

As a child he had very little and so he has worked hard his whole life to change that legacy for his children. My father was the only one working to support my family due to the fact that my mother had injured herself a few years ago and damaged her hips. My father has supported us alone since then and has given our family hope for a better tomorrow but suddenly and expectantly everything has changed and the future is now looking bleak.

My family is currently battling not just with my father's cancer, but also with a financial crisis. If there is anything you can do to help, please do.
