As many of my friends and family know I was diagnosed with Leukocytoclastic vasculitis in March of 2019. When I was first diagnosed I had NO clue what this would do to myself and my family the next couple years.

I have had 14 hospital stays, the shortest being 6 days and the longest being 18 days. Plus a 9 day stay at Mayo hospital in Rochester, MN.

Currently I have three wounds, two on my left leg and one on my right leg. These are not typical wounds..... one is very small and almost ready to close, one is about 3cm long and .3cm deep but the big problem is the wound on my left leg. It is 14cm long and 2cm deep.

I go to wound care weekly and change dressings daily. As you can imagine this can be very costly. Until I reach my deductible each bandage I order is $7 each and I use four a day, it is ridiculous that people can charge that much.

Second because of the extreme swelling when I am up on my feet, I am currently on leave from the most wonderful job I have ever had. The most rewarding that’s for sure. So we only have one full income and we have made it work but now we are going through a pretty rough time. Which I know so Many people are.

I am starting ultrasona Mist Therapy in Springfield now and that could be up to 3x a week driving to Springfield. Which I am grateful for but that drive is tough all week long.

Brett and I have prayed daily for guidance on what to do. We have had so many people tell us that we should start a Go Fund me or something like it. We didn’t feel like that was appropriate or maybe it was our pride, I don’t know. However, with me not working now.....we are at a place where we had to do something and suck up my pride.

I pray that when I submit this that everyone that reads this knows that we know there are so many people worse off that we are and we pray that if you can “give” to us in money, gift cards, etc that you pray along with us. Not just for what I am dealing with but for everything going on in our country. We know my problem is very little but for Brett, Landyn and myself..... ..it has turned our world upside down.
