UPDATE(6/17/21): I have been extremely grateful for all of the support so far. A few days after I made this page my mom was hospitalized for 5 days. She has blood clots in her leg that had caused her leg to swell and contribute to her inability to walk. She had many issues when we took her in and the doctors worked effortlessly to figure out the issues. She went through countless MRI’s and CT scans during her stay to try and find the cause. She is now home after she was stable but her blood clots still remain. She has been given new medications on top of what she already takes to help reduce these clots which could take months in total. We did not expect any of this to happen but we are taking it one day at a time and monitoring her closely. Apart from me wanting to give a genuine update to all the concerned supporters of her on her status, I am also here because I need to raise the ultimate goal. This turn of events has led to a substantial hospital bill and co pay on medications. We were also made to get her a hospital bed and wheelchair in order for her to be released. While her insurance covers some of this, the remaining balance is tasked with us on top of what expenses we were already struggling to manage for her before this incident. So I will be trying to spread this as much as I can. To anyone who already donated I appreciate you so much and it is okay if you can not donate more I completely understand. But if you could share this it would mean so much to me. My mom is going through it more than ever right now but she is a fighter and she will make it through this like I know she can. My name is Jacob and I am here in need of help for my mother Gina. My mom is the sweetest most whole hearted person that I’ve ever known. Almost 6 years ago she was diagnosed with Frontal Temporal Dementia. A disease that isn’t usually found in people of her age group this early but never the less it still happens. She has trouble with cognitive skills as well as thinking and speaking too. This woman is the absolute world to me and I put everything else in my life on hold so that I could be here with her and take care of her. Through the recent years she has been steadily declining and I have been with her every step of the way to try to ensure her the best life she can have for the time being. She enjoys a simple life, she loves to eat cheeseburgers and watch her favorite tv shows and she is a massive Tim McGraw fan too. I am helped in this caretaking responsibility by my grandmother who helps me daily with tasks for my mom. My grandma does not work and also volunteers to run a homeless shelter on top of taking care of her daughter. She is a very modest and kindhearted woman that will never ask for help even when it is desperately needed. That’s why I am here because as much as I did not want to do this either, we are running out of options. I do not work myself having spent all my time here with my mother and my grandma tries to make everything run smoothly but she is struggling by herself and my savings have ran dry out of financial help too. I know the goal may seem high but I had to take into consideration everything that is needed to help me keep my mom here at home living out her remaining days in the comfort of where we spent so many years of our life. All donations are going directly too prescription bills, food for her, adult diapers and any other supplies we use daily for her and whatever left to just be able to make payments on the house and water. The last reason I am asking for help is because as much as it pains me to say this let alone tell the internet. I truly do not know how much longer I have here with my mother and anything left over will be put towards the ultimate nightmare I so desperately want to avoid as long as I can. I have never done this before and I am not one to ask strangers for money or share my personal stories much but I am out of options.
I would also like to add that if you read this far and you either do not want to donate or simply can’t donate due to personal financial reasons or whatever else. That is totally fine, I appreciate you taking a moment to hear about my beautiful mom and the amazing person she is to know and love. The only positive of this terrible disease is that my mom has no idea there is something wrong with her, every day is a smile and even on her bad days she always can let out a laugh and just enjoy another day here.
