Hello everyone! Anyone who’s attended St. Charles Borromeo knows how inspirational And how much of a beautiful person Ms. Leatherwood is. One thing that not many people knew is that she suffers from Multiple Sclerosis. Multiple Sclerosis is a disease in which the immune system eats away at the protective covering of the nerves. Ms. Leatherwood is literally my second mother. To hear the pain in her voice has honestly hurt me. She’s such a strong woman and felt embarrassed at the fact that she needed to reach out to us for help but I feel as though that is why we were put in her life. Since the covid vaccines are out, the school that she teaches at has transitioned out of virtual classes and are now in person. Because she is in so much pain and MS has affected her ability to walk, she has not been able to work which has now caused her to be far behind on her rent. She described the pain to me as “someone stabbing me in the eye with a fork, having to walk around with a shopping cart in order to move around the city.” There are moments when she can’t afford to even buy her own food. She was also signed up for the Johnson & Johnson covid vaccine but she cannot take it because one of the side effects of it is blood clots. I say all of this to say, please donate what you can.
