On July 6, 2016 Tad went in for a long awaited hernia surgery. Immediately after he was not feeling well, but thought it was normal discomfort from surgery.

At day 6 he had a follow up and with persistence from Tad and his wife they were sent to the hospital for further testing. Thank God because it was found that an intestine was pierced during his surgery on the 6th. Needless to say by the time he was admitted he was extremely sick. Tad was rushed in and for a five + hour surgery. The surgeon came to tell the family he was septic and he removed as much of the infection as he could. It was going to be a long road to pulling through this one. The surgeon also told us that he was much worse then he anticipated and due to this put Tad in an induced coma to help with pain and to start the long healing process. His 18 inch incision has to remain open to give his body the opportunity to heal from the inside out.

Tad is now awake, but still very sick and in excruciating pain. It is devastating to watch him go through this especially knowing he should not be here.
