Operation Get Home!
Many of you may have already heard his story or have been paying attention to & keeping up with his progress; but for those of you who haven’t at the age of 25years old John Jackson was in a tragic & unfortunate car accident on Feb. 2nd, 2019 leaving him legally paralyzed. John graduated from the illustrious Kentucky State University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, ran track, played football, served on the Student Gov’t Association & became a member of The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated. For the last two years John has put in countless hours of both occupational & physical therapy in hopes to making a full recovery. He currently resides at the Heartland Of Twinsburg skilled facility in Twinsburg, Ohio where he is provided inpatient therapy while also attending the Peter B. Lewis aquatic & therapy center where he receives aqua therapy twice a week; on top of attending the Buckeye Wellness Center once a week (which he pays out of pocket for) as an outpatient to continue his recovery journey. As you can see John is very determined to become more independent & overcome this unfortunate circumstance. Even though the accident may have changed his life it didn’t take his life so he takes full advantage of every opportunity to get stronger & better than the day before. He often uses phrases like “Stay the course,” “I’m built for this,” & “Never give up, never give in” to remind & encourage hisself that the joy is in the journey. That the only way he can be defeated is if he doesn’t try or simply decides to give up! Which giving up is the farthest thought from his mind. He attributes his strength to his family, frat brothers, close friends & all of you his supporters who have been believing, praying, rooting for, encouraging & sewing into his journey to a full recovery whether it’s been spiritually or monetary. Thanks to all of you he has come so far on this journey but still has so far to go! It is time for John to move on to the next part of his journey. It’s time for John to come HOME & with your help John will not only be able to come home, but the transition back home will be smoother & a lot less stressful so that he can continue to focus solely on his recovery. John’s recovery has been an uphill journey that has tested his faith & patience; as well as strengthened his resiliency & determination. Throughout this journey John has gained a much deeper appreciation for life. He has learned to take each day one at a time, to appreciate every blessing, big or small, be thankful for all progression, fast or slow & take nothing for granted. With that all being said there are a few things John will need upon his return home which includes household appliances & necessities, furniture & adaptive equipment. All proceeds and funds raised will not only go towards in home needs but also rental deposits & a few months of rent to get him off to a smooth financial transition due to the fact John will be moving into an apartment of his own where he will not only continue his recovery journey but his life as well and with your help we can all make this happen! John still has full intentions of walking again & accomplishing a medical miracle while still sustaining an progressive life but will indeed need your help. All donations will be greatly appreciated! Join the journey we can’t do this without you!
“Thank you in advance!”-John J
