After receiving an overwhelming amount of love and support through millions of views, likes, shares and comments on Tik Tok, Eeyore’s future was looking up! Marcia & SOS Prairie Rescue were going to get him the surgery he needs for his eye then find a perfect farm for him to live out his days in peace.
Sadly, after 2 months of slowing gaining his trust but not getting very far, Marcia found what could be causing a lot of his stress and resistance.
On top of him being in constant discomfort with his eye, it appears that he has severe dental disease. This most likely explains why he has been so aggressive - he is in a lot of pain. Marcia also noticed he has a couple extra toes on his front paws which shouldn’t cause pain but needs to be looked at.
So, if we are even able to afford the dental surgery plus the eye surgery, all of his teeth will be removed and he will have to eat a wet food only diet. Which means he cannot live on a farm. But, the chances of finding a home willing to take in an aggressive feral cat are extremely thin.
SOS Prairie Rescue is currently on an intake freeze due to lack of funds. Over 100 cats were rescued in May alone and our waiting list never ends. We currently cannot afford to cover the vet bills of Eeyore but we don’t want to see him suffer any longer!
