Austin Minks Funeral Expense

Dear friends and family,
Most of you have heard that Austin Minks took his own life on July 11th around 9pm. There were no warnings signs. Austin has never mentioned having suicidal thoughts. This was very unexpected; Austin had recently been prescribed & started on a medication called Lyrica (Pregabalin) for pain in his leg. One of the major side effects of this medication is thoughts or attempts of suicide in "about 1 of 500 people". In our case, Austin was the 1 out of 500 who experienced this side effect. The manufacturers believe this is a small number of people that experience this side effect. Austin cannot be replaced; he is our friend, brother and son. Please read the side effects of medication. (Here is a link from the manufacture, read point number 2. http://labeling.pfizer.com/ShowLabeling.aspx?id=561§ion=MedGuide
We are sadly at a loss with the passing of Austin; he brought a smile to everyone's face. He was a cheerful, energetic loving person who loved playing XBox. He was a sophomore at Katy High School where he participated in Cross Country. He was taken from us at an early age, but we have to learn to adapt.. Remember the happy times, the thoughts that bring a smile to your face, Never forget Austin Minks (2000-2016).
This is an unexpected tragedy, so I'm setting up this page to help ease the financial burden set upon his parent. Any an all donations are welcome, no matter the amount. A simple hug is also appreciated, All donations will go to Leonard & Suzanne Minks who will use any excess funds to set up a scholarship for graduating seniors who participated in Cross Country.
