Monica's Medical and Living Fund

Here is a heartfelt letter penned by Nate Watts, for help for his mother and himself with their uphill battle:

"My mom, Monica Cooper, has been diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma, a very rare and aggressive cancer of the soft tissue. She has seen a specialist at the University of Miami and needs to start 6 rounds of chemotherapy to shrink the tumor since it's located so close to the jugular vein, then surgery to remove it. Treatment is estimated to take 6 months (at the least) and she will be unable to work during that time. Unfortunately the start of treatment has been delayed as we are currently homeless. We were moving right when this all came up and needed to change our plans due to the medical expenses and time off work. We are living in a hotel day to day. I am her only child and I have a developmental delay. My mom can't start treatment until she has somewhere safe and stable for her to recover between treatments and after surgery. I am asking, if anyone can give anything, to get first, last and security for an apartment for my mom,get utilities paid and most importantly, to help with the incredibly high medical costs. Time is of the essence because the longer she goes without treatment the more aggressive this cancer will become. Please help me help my mom. If you can't give money please keep us in your prayers. This is a letter pertaining to my cousin and her son. Even with disbelief she will be receiving only half of her normal pay and yet her bills are quadruple what they normally are. Anything helps and my family will forever be grateful. We lost our grandmother and my cousin's mom in the last few years so more than anything she needs a support system and love while she recovers. The last the she needs is to have these worries on top of the stress this cancer has brought on.
