Baloo's cancer -leg amputation

Update: I got the new estimate for an Ultrasound (which will hopefully rule out any other tumors in his body) and the amputation surgery. It is twice the amount I anticipated and I am just desperate at this point. Baloo is active, in good spirits and in no way telling me he wants to die. He has a lot of life left in him and I can't NOT get him a surgery that will remove his cancer.

I want this to be done as soon as possible, to allow him to be pain free again and to avoid risking and spreading of the cancer.

Further below I have pictures of the previous bills I already paid to figure out what is wrong with his paw. Any money that exceeds the total amount of the goal, will go towards those bills, that I am still paying off as well.

Hello friends and everybody who might not know us,

I'm fundraising for my cat Baloo's medical bills. Unfortunately, we discovered a mass on his right front paw, that has become more and more painful and has impaired his walking.

It took several vet visits and two different X Rays to figure out this wasn't from an injury. On our 4th vet visit Baloo's vet did a biopsy. We are currently waiting for the results to confirm it is a cancerous mass.

Once confirmed we will schedule an appointment to remove Baloo's leg, which is the only way to remove the mass and have him pain-free again.

So far I spent about $3300 on this.

At this point, I estimated the amount for the surgery and hospital stay, but I will update the exact amount once I know it.

Baloo is the best cat I could ever have asked for. When my then-roommate and best friend Lya and I went to the Humane Society Baloo picked us. He is the cuddliest cat and even convinces people who don't like cats of how awesome he is. He has so much love to give

and the least I can do for him is make sure he can live with all the energy he has in him still. He's so playful, but his paw has stopped him from really being his best self for the past two months.

I know that Baloo is making the best out of this and he will live his best life, even with just three legs, as long as he isn't in pain anymore.

As most people are aware any kind of medical bill can get very expensive in this country. Unfortunately, I am still not rich, but please know, that when/if that happens, I'll be the first to pay it forward.

Hallo liebe Freunde und an alle, die uns vielleicht noch nicht kennen,

Ich suche auf diesem Weg nach finanzieller Unterstützung, um mir dabei zu helfen die Artzkosten für meinen Kater Baloo abzubezahlen.

Leider wurde in seinem Bein, knapp über seiner rechten Pfote, ein Geschwür entdeckt. Zwei verschiedene Doktoren hatten zuerst vermutet, es sei eine Verletzung. Nach dem zweiten Mal röntgen, hat sich dann leider herausgestellt, dass ein paar seiner Handknochen bereits abnormal aussehen. Bei seinem vierten Arztbesuch wurde eine Biopsie gemacht.

Wir warten gerade auf die Ergebnisse, doch Baloo's Arzt meinte es sieht definitiv nach Krebs aus.

Sobald wir das eindeutige Ergebnis haben, werden wir einen Termin für eine Amputations OP ausmachen. Das ist in so einem Fall meist der einzige Weg, den Krebs loszuwerden und Baloo wieder ein schmerzfreies Leben zu ermöglichen.

Er humpelt nun schon seit fast zwei Monaten, und es wird immer schlimmer. :(

Meine Freundin und frühere Mitbewohnerin und ich haben Baloo vor ca. 10 Jahren im Tierheim hier in Pasadena adoptiert. Er ist die beste Katze, die man sich wünschen kann und er hat so viel Energie, die er momentan wegen seiner Pfote nicht nutzen kann.

Leider sind alle medizinischen Untersuchungen, Operationen und Medikamente in den USA extrem teuer, nicht nur für Menschen, sondern auch für Tiere.

Ich freue mich über jede Spende (klein, mittel oder groß), die mir dabei hilft, diese verrückten Rechnungen abzubezahlen und Baloo's Schmerzen zu nehmen.

Sobald ich die Kosten für die Amputation erfahre, werde ich den Gesamtbetrag für den Fundraiser updaten.
