Katie fell ill in January and after many appointments and painful tests she was given the shocking blow that she had stage 4 burkett lymphoma, one the fastest and most agressive of lymphomas. Katie was extremely ill and within 12 hours of her diagnosis was put into an induced coma. Her body was struggling and starting to shut down. We stayed by her side as katie fought night and day. Despite all the odds she managed to be well enough to come off sedation. But 2 months in a coma meant she had to learn to talk, walk and eat all over again.
Katie continued with aggressive chemotherapy and more painful treatments in order to beat this and on June 15th she received the news she had been waiting to hear. All results were clear. Katie came home to her partner and son and started to live their lives again. They planned a holiday which sadly they never got to as 2 weeks later she discovered the lymphoma was back. Katie was rushed straight back to hospital. The lymphoma had spread quickly, katie had another round of chemotherapy but it just wasn't strong enough.
On the 2nd September katie was told there was no more treatment available and that lymphoma will take over her body. Katies world crashed aroynd her as did ours. Katie is spending her time between home and hospital. Her only dream was to marry her partner danny and on the 9th September that happened. They were married and her dreams came true. We have set up this page due to an overwhelming amount of support and queries of donations. This page is set by their family with katie and Danny approval. It will go towards the cost of living for her and her husband danny so he doesn't have to worry. And a future gift for her son ethan from mummy. Thank you all for your support.
