As many of you know my Son in Law Alex Alvarado was injured while at the beach during the fireworks on July 2nd, 2016 during an altercation in which he recieved a major head trauma. They had transferred him to Stonybrook hospital on July 3rd early in the morning due to the fact that he had incurred bleeding on the brain. While he was there they did mulitiple ct scans MRI's and x-rays to monitor his condition. He was able to be discharged later that evening but with a very limited list of things he could do. Dr. ordered mostly rest. He was diagnosed with a severe concussion which he will need to get therapy for his vision and his brain. Although the last few days his condition is getting better, he will not be able to work for sometime. We do not know how long he will be unable to work right at the moment as more testing is needed. As you know Al is always there to help out many of you with your vehicle repairs and other odds and ends at his shop. With Al being out of the shop this has put added stress on my daughter Brittany to keep the shop running while he is recovering from his injuries. His employees are doing a great job helping them keep the wheels turning but they could use the help of the local community. On top of the shop stress they've recently discovered that Stonybrook doesn't accept their insurance and while I'm confident they will be able to work out payment plans, I am hoping the community will help them get through this. They are a local family trying to keep a business going under tremendous financial strain with Al not being there to run the shop. The whole family is emotionally damaged and suffering as my grandchildren were a witness to their fathers injuries and they are struggling too! I am asking people to donate whatever they can lift some of the financial burden they will incurr. I am hopeful the community will help out this family struggling to survive. I know they have helped out many people in all these years running Alvarado Mechanical and being of service to the community. Thank you in advance for helping out.
