Road to recovery for Evan Mcintosh.

Evan Mcintosh was in an accident the night of August 3rd, 2016. He was on his way home from a long day of work, had just left his second job and was coming down black water road when something happened and the truck he was driving got wrapped around two trees. He had to be flown to Norfolk General hospital with the nightingale and was rushed straight into the OR for surgery. He has right shoulder damage that he's going to need surgery on once he's out of immediate danger. He has broken every rib on his right side and punctured his liver and had internal bleeding. They put some sponges on it and some pressure to try to stop the bleeding. He was then transferred to GICU. There his blood pressure started dropping to unsafe levels and they had to put him on pressers the bring it back up. While all this happening Evan is currently sedated and will be for 3-4 days. He is intabated, on a ventilator. Today (August 5th, 2016) Evan went down for surgery to get his abdominal closed up. They had opened his abdominal area to get to his liver and to check all internal bleeding to make sure it has all been stopped. When he came back up we were told his surgery went well and there is no more internal bleeding and that his liver is looking good. Tomorrow they plan to take the tubes out of his throat and hopefully start progressing with everything. This is going to be a long road to recovery. He also fractured his lumbar vertibrae and will be in a back brace and unable to work or get around on his own for a few months. Evan was working two jobs to support his family due to his father being disable who was the main income to the family. Evan had taken his fathers role in the family to take care of his father and his mother. All donations will be going to all his medical expenses, and his family to help get by and help Evan while he is out of work. Anything will help with this tragic time.
