Please Help Save Bruiser!!!!
Bruiser is my handsome 4 year old Bulldog. He receantly got very sick with a stomach virus, I took him to the vet and was sent home with medicine. A couple hours later he developed new symptoms. I called the vet and they said he could just be stressed out. The next morning he was still peeing alot with very little coming out, but this time I saw blood. I immediatly called the vet again and brought him right over. The diagnosis was a UTI and Bruiser was sent home with different meds, and fluids injected under his skin.
Bruiser continued to relieve himself every 15 to 20 minutes and would not eat anything. I got him to drink some water, and eat a little bit of baby food. Next day another new symptom arose and he would not lay down. His urinating was continuing but now large amounts were coming out. I called the vet again and again we went there. The vet did another ultrasound this time of the whole abdomen and told me there was something there that she did not know what it was. I was then told I needed to take him to University of Penn to have him looked at. Bruiser is a Bulldog and has special needs if put under anesthesia, and they have specialist just for that reason. I was told that just to walk in the door would be 1500-3000 dollars and that I could apply for Care Credit. I had already spent 1500 on the Vet bills in 3 days, but Bruiser is my life and I would do anything to save him.
When I applied for the Care Credit I was turned down, a very special person applied for me and was approved for a certain amount, it was just enough to get him into the hospital.
After they looked him over they said he would have to stay over night and be checked by the specialist in the morning.
I finally found out the next day what was wrong with my baby boy, he had prostate cysts and many. The concern was that two of these cysts grew large and ruptured by him being sick, and now they were seeping into his belly. I was told he needed immediate surgery or he could die by becoming Septic. I was then told that the charges would be 6000 -8000 dollars and in order for them to even start the procedure I needed to come up with 2800.00 by the time the surgeon called me in the next 30 minutes.
I was frantic, I cannot lose my baby boy. Bruiser means everything to me. He has gotten me through a nasty divorce, my whole family was ripped apart after 20 years, Bruiser has been my strentgh and my son's strenth through all of the hard times we have faced in the last 3 years. I need to be there for him now and I need help to do that.
Another angel was sent to Bruiser by God and he helped me by allowing me to put the 2800.00 on his credit card (which was his entire amount).
Brusier is now in ICU after a five hour surgery, and has a tube in his belly to drain out the puss. He will be in there for the next two days so they can watch him very closley, because there is still a chance he can become septic.
Bruiser is my world and I dont know what I would do if I lost him. I am begging everyone to please help Bruiser get the care he so desperatley deserves. Bruiser has always given me unselfish love and a shoulder to cry on, now it's my turn to be there for him.
I would be so very thankful to each and everyone of you who help Bruiser out in his desperate fight for his life.
I need to come up with 6000.00 by 5/10/2016. I know it's asking alot but I also know that there are alot of good people in this world who want to help.
Thank you to all of you who have taken time to read this and for showing Bruiser your love and support.
