Apartment Fire

On Saturday May 22nd my family experienced a catastrophic loss due to an apartment fire.
we had about 30 seconds to get anything of importance and get out of the house before it was completely overtaken by incredibly hot, thick black smoke
we were able to save all of our pets with the help of the fire departments and all of our incredible Neighbors.
We were able to salvage a few family pictures and a couple of documents, but most everything is destroyed.
We had been up early in the morning, had gone out for a walk and made some breakfast before deciding to lay down for a short nap. We woke up to smoke alarms going off and walked out into our living room to see flames covering the windows of our third-floor apartment and seeing our front room filling with smoke.
My 17 year old son, a south shore vo-tech junior was in the shower and had absolutely no time to do anything but throw on a pair of jeans and run.
He went back into the smoke to rescue one of our axolotls.
He was very brave.
This is not the first time a fire has been started at this location due to cigarettes.
please people, be mindful of what you do when you smoke cigarettes. you could dramatically change somebody's life with just a little complacency.
So we are going to have to start from scratch now. We had no renters insurance, we are not prepared for this and anything that anybody is willing to do to help is greatly appreciated. We don't know if we'll ever be able to repay you for your generosity, but we will never forget and try to do something to show our appreciation. And please, if you do not already have one, sit down with your family and make a fire plan. Try to be prepared for this because it's not what you think is going to be like. You have no time and you can't think straight.
