Mitch's healing fund
Donation protected
Our dear friend Mitch Cohen is dealing with a serious health challenge. At the end of June he was diagnosed with bile duct carcinoma. The good news is that it doesn’t appear that the cancer has spread beyond his liver, and it can be removed through surgery. Mitch has had some complications since then – a serious blood infection – that has required a stay in the intensive care unit at Emory hospital.
Mitch is expected to be well enough to still have the surgery to remove the cancer soon. The surgery takes 7 hours and requires nearly a week of hospital recovery time. After that he will undergo chemotherapy.
For those who would like to know how they can help:
LOVE HEALS
Mitch’s wife Deborah, daughter Rachael and son David are all staying with him as much as possible, and their love and presence is the greatest healing power. Because he is now looking at an extended stay down at Emory, the costs for his family to be by his side will add up quickly (hotel room, parking, food, gas, lost work time, etc.). Please consider a donation to help with these expenses and give Mitch the gift of his family's loving care without the worry of cost.
Mitch expressed that he can feel all our thoughts and prayers and is incredibly grateful. Keep ‘em coming.
07/13 UPDATE:
Mitch was in surgery yesterday and everything went well -- doctors believe they removed the cancer. He'll be down at Emory recovering for several days and then will hopefully be home soon to heal-up before chemo begins. Your support has meant the world to him and his family!
