Hello Friends of Nicholas Naumkin:
As many of you know, the city of Saratoga Springs has planted a dogwood tree in honor of Nicholas Naumkin in Congress Park. We now have an opportunity to place a bench in honor of Nicholas right by the tree. We hope that the tree and bench will be an area to comtemplate peace and non-violence and a place to pay respects to the innocent victims of these preventable incidents.
The bench will have writing by Nicholas inscripted on it.
In Memory of Nicholas (Kolya) Naumkin
5/30/1998 – 12/23/2010
“…I hear the birds chirping in the wind,
I hope I’ll live a good long life…”
Written 9/29/2010
We need to raise $1500.00 for the city to do this. We hope you can contribute to this project.
As you know, Nicholas Naumkin was shot on a playdate with a friend in December of 2010. He has been an inspiration for us to enact Safe Storage laws in Saratoga Springs and to continue working for them in New York State, so that this does not happen to other children. Many thanks to Saratogians for Gun Safety, New Yorkers' Against Gun Violence, and the city of Saratoga Springs for helping with Safe Storage and the tree. Thanks to Sustainable Saratoga for helping to place and plant the tree.
We hope you will contribute.
