Beckum-Stapleton Little League (BSLL) is a historic Non-Profit Providing 52 years of quality youth baseball to the City of Milwaukee. Beckum-Stapleton Little League is the oldest functioning African American Little League in the United States. Inner city youth are suffocating under the weight of poverty, minimum education, violence and a plethora of negative influences. Society today is sending the youth of Milwaukee down a path of destruction, and with the drastic increase in crime in the inner city, it is evident that the city’s youth need more positive outlets. Beckum-Stapleton Little League, under the auspices of James Beckum, has been working towards providing those positive influences to the inner city youth for years.
Our mission is to prepare young men and women for their future not only in baseball skills, but also in skills that will prepare them for life. Outside of baseball skills the program also works to motivate, educate, and inspire young devotional athletes towards greatness.
Your financial support would be immensely appreciated to ensure commitment to some of our communities most vulnerable athletes. As an organization we are committed to providing youth with the opportunity to gather character and life skills development by engaging in sports, and our program has proven to do so.
With a substantial decline over the past few years, BSLL is seeking to not only increase African American baseball participation but also introduce lucrative programs such as tutoring services and educational media programs to enhance our youth learning abilities and life skills.
Beckum-Stapleton Little League has been a highly respected organization in the city of Milwaukee. It's continued existence and influence on our youth remains an important factor in our continued growth as a communitee and as people. BSLL will continue to be a Legacy that brings our youth together and placing them on a positive path.
