Chris McClure Needs Our Help

Our beloved Christopher McClure woke up a week ago unable to walk.
He had recently had a mild case of the Zika Virus, and a few days later this progressed to breathlessness, numbness and tingling in his hands and feet. He went to the doctor, was examined and told to watch the symptoms carefully. By the following day he had become worse, and early the next morning was unable to walk and had to be lifted into a car and taken to hospital.
He was seen by a Neurologist and diagnosed with Guillain Barre Syndrome. This is a complication triggered by the Zika Virus. It causes paralysis in the limbs, and this can progress to facial paralysis and paralysis of the respiratory system resulting in the patient needing the support of a ventilator, with the hope that they will be able to come off and breathe on their own again.
This complication is very debilitating, sometimes taking up to three years for the person to recover. Chris has received the five day/six hour infusion treatments of the recommended drug. Unfortunately he has not shown any improvement up to this point. The paralysis in his legs has spread to his arms and his facial muscles. A feeding tube is now being considered.
The required hospital stay for close observation and administration of the drugs, medication and specialist fees, as well as on-going physiotherapy, are very expensive.
The unpredictability of the condition means that medical costs could escalate and become overwhelming. We sincerely appreciate any donation you may be able to give.

Update: Chris is now better able to move his hands, and eating a bit better.
We will keep you updated as things progress.

Chris is still in the hospital being closely monitored by a team of medical professionals, including a neurologist and physiotherapist. He is improving in small but significant increments. The movement in his hands and feet are limited and he's still unable to stand up. He's not able to eat solids as yet. He's not yet feeding himself . Still he's progressing.
we would like to thank you for continued prayers.
Thanks
