Reese Lynn Kirk- A Warrior

Donation protected
Reese Lynn Kirk was born on January 22, 2013 with an undetected heart defect- Pulmonary Stenosis. She underwent her first open heart surgery at only a little over a week old. A BT Shunt was placed in the heart until the heart reached the size intended for her full repair.

After her first surgery, Reese had an embolic stroke. Three places in Reese's brain were damaged. Focal seizures followed, detected by an EEG and MRI. Reese was put on two medications to stop seizures. After almost a month in the hospital, Baby Reeese finally went home. No seizures were present and we waited on the doctor's orders for her Full Repair to the heart. This was at 4 months. At the age of 4 months, Reese had her second open heart surgery. She was such a trooper. She was home within 5 days.

Two days ago, Alan and Shannon noticed her speech slurring. They also noticed her limbs moving strangely some times. They took Reese to LeBonheur Emergency Room on a Saturday evening. They were unable to run further neurologic tests until Monday. They monitored Reese at home all weekend and noted strange movements and slurred words.

Reese is at LeBonheur now for testing. She will have full neuro and cardio testing today with the possibility of being admitted with her health history.

On top of everything, Alan lost his job on Friday. Alan and Shannon will not know what percentage of Reese's testing will be covered under their insurance. They will be making multiple hospital trips and trips to therapy: possibly speech and physical therapy.

Shannon is a teacher and truly has a passion for her job. She is directing Vacation Bible School at her church this Summer and has enjoyed planning and preparing such a fun, God-filled week for the children.

Alan and Shannon would greatly appreciate any help at this time. If you are unable to donate financially, ️prayers are greatly appreciated.
