On November 2nd, 2024, Lucas was at home with his dogs having a normal Saturday afternoon. He got up to throw away trash, and one of his dogs suddenly started attacking him. His father rushed him to Community Hospital, where he was taken by ambulance to Comer Children’s Hospital in Chicago.

Lucas is a sweet, strong, smart, compassionate 11-year-old kid. He loves school, playing chess, and baseball. He will kick your butt in chess. Yesterday he went into surgery his chest and arms have a long road of recovery. He may have more surgeries in the near future, but the doctors have to wait until the swelling goes down.
