Who is Shane Smart? Former pro snow boarder, winning the Pro/AM Triple Air at Mt. High in 2000, to loving husband and father of three beautiful childern. Shane is a dedicated family man and friend to all he meets.

On July 24th, after having struggling with what was believed to be a sinus infection, Shane was told he has an inoperable tumor in the sinus cavity behind his eye. This tumor was determined to be malignant and diagnosed as Invasive Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Shane will begin a rigorous treatment program over the next 7-weeks, with 5/day-week radiation and chemotherapy.

This devastating news came only six months after the family learned their son, Slater (11) has Juvenile Diabetes (Type 1) and Hashimoto's Disease. The Smart family has made life alterning changes requiring extreme dedication to a healthy and balanced diet, along with a life-time of medications, doctors appointments and tests.

For a family to endure even one diagnosis is emotionally and financially devasting and yet, the Smart's must endure both Cancer and Diabetes at the same time.

Friends of the family are asking for your consideration and help with a donation as Shane overcomes his battle with Cancer; and, to aid with the continual need of medical supplies for the treatment of Slater and Juvenile Diabetes.
