Hi everyone! Those who know me know that I came to law school specifically to be an advocate for art and cultural heritage worldwide. In November, I was accepted into the Art, Business and Law LLM program and Queen Mary in London. Attending will be the last educational step to pursuing the dream that brought me to law school nearly four years ago.
Some of you may also know that I was named a semi-finalist for a Fulbright grant that would have covered or waived many of the fees and costs associated applying for my student visa, tuition, and making the move to the UK. At the same time as all of this was happening, I was being hit hard financially by the pandemic, as my job’s start date was moved back several times, the bar was delayed, and I eventually deferred to February in the hopes of taking a full Universal Bar Exam (UBE) with a transportable score.
I just found out that I passed the bar (UBE!), I am waiting to hear about a program scholarship to help with tuition, and things are looking up! However, I am still recovering from the pandemic’s financial impact. Despite working a full-time job and two part-time jobs, things are tight, and the start-up costs of pursuing my LLM will cause more financial strain.
I am asking for help with things like my airline ticket, my visa and required National Health Service fees, storage costs, and startup housing costs. Any help you can give is extremely appreciated as I work toward pursuing my dream of working in cultural heritage law. Thanks so much for everyone’s help and support. I would never have made it this far without all of your well-wishes and encouragement. ♥️
